 NEW YORK, Aug.13 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed mixed today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 0.27 to 386.73. Declines led advances 249 to 207 with 249 issues unchanged. The average price per share was unchanged.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 10,014,800 shares, down from the 10,446,315 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours volume today, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 10,014,800 shares.
 Topping the most active list was International Murex Technologies Inc., up 7/8 to 11-3/8 on 524,500 shares, followed by Exploration Company of Louisiana, up 1/16 to 1-7/16 on 394,800 shares. The third most active issue, Echo Bay Mines was down 1/4 to 5-7/8 on 363,800 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 210,400 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Topox, Inc. , up 1/8 to 2-3/16 on 43,500 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 119,717 contracts changing hands as compared with 120,942 contracts traded yesterday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the U.S. Surgical October 70 series, up 3-1/8 to 5-1/4 on 2,438 contracts, followed by the S&P Midcap 400 December 135 series, unchanged at 2-7/8 on 2,150 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical October 80 series down 3/4 to 11 on 1,926 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Royal Dutch Petroleum September 85 series, up 1/4 to 3 on 1,810 contracts, followed by the Trinity Industries August 85 series down 7/16 to 5/8 on 1,512 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical August 80 series, unchanged at 3/16 on 1,358 contracts. OPTIONS
