 NEW YORK, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down .05 to 374.15. Declines led advances 265 to 230 with 230 issues unchanged. The average price per share was unchanged.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 9,280,570 shares, down from the 10,606,705 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours trading activity today.
 Topping the most active list was Fruit of the Loom, up 1/4 to 31 1/8 on 406,600 shares, followed by IVAX Corp., up 1/8 to 24 1/4 on 369,300 shares. The third most active issue, Echo Bay Mines was down 1/4 to 5 3/4 on 258,800 shares.

 Today's volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 129,000 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Intertel Communications, Inc., unchanged at 1 1/4 on 36,400 shares.
 Trading in options was active today with 196,500 contracts changing hands as compared with 240,646 contracts traded yesterday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the S&P MidCap 400 July 160 series, unchanged at 22 3/4 on 3,000 contracts, followed by the S&P MidCap 400 July 157 1/2 series, unchanged at 20 1/4 on 3,000 contracts. The third most active was the Philipp Morris July 75 series up 3/16 to 2 3/4 on 2,088 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Phillip Morris July 75 series, down 1/2 to 1 1/16 on 5,562 contracts, followed by the American Express July 20 series unchanged at 3 3/8 on 4,963 contracts. The third most active was the American Express July 17 1/2 series, unchanged at 5 7/8 on 4,862 contracts.
