 NEW YORK, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in light trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 3.77 to 375.62. Declines led advances 357 to 177 with 227 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell eleven cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 9,398,970 shares, down from the 11,595,480 shares traded Friday. There was no after-hours activity today.
 Topping the most active list was Fruit of the Loom, down 7/8 to 29 7/8 on 378,300 shares, followed by Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, down 2 3/4 to 35 3/8 on 236,000 shares. The third most active issue, Turner Broadcasting Systems was down 1 to 19 1/4 on 204,800 shares.

 Today's volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 97,400 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was AUDRE Recognition Systems, down 1/4 to 3 7/16 on 21,500 shares.
 Trading in options was moderate today with 169,830 contracts changing hands as compared with 247,068 contracts traded Friday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the XMI Leaps December 27 1/2 series, down 1/16 to 7/8 on 2,000 contracts, followed by the S&P Midcap 400 July 140 series, up 5/8 to 4 5/8 on 1,433 contracts. The third most active was the Telefonos de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. August 40 series up 9/16 to 1 9/16 on 1,355 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Phillip Morris July 80 series, down 3/16 to 5/8 on 2,561 contracts, followed by the Phillip Morris July 75 series down 1/8 to 2 1/4 on 2,523 contracts. The third most active was the Nabisco July 10 series, down 1/16 to 1/4 on 1,672 contracts.
