 NEW YORK, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 0.11 to 374.04. Declines led advances 239 to 213 with 254 issues unchanged. The average price per share was unchanged.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 10,195,600 shares, up/down from the 9280,570 shares traded yesterday. There was no after hours activity reported.
 Topping the most active list was Devon Energy, up 1/4 to 10-3/8 on 965,900 shares, followed by Fruit of the Loom, down 1/2 to 30-5/8 on 410,400 shares. The third most active issue, Amdahl Corporation was up 1/2 to 16-5/8 on 267,100 shares.

 Today's volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 126,100 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was AUDRE Recognition Systems, up 1/16 to 3-1/8 on 29,600 shares.
 Trading in options was moderate today with 143,088 contracts changing hands as compared with 196,500 contracts traded yesterday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Major Market Index July 375 series, unchanged at 25 on 2,000 contracts, followed by the Major Market Index July 380 series, down 2 to 30 on 2,000 contracts. The third most active was the Teleconcepts October 15 series up 1/16 to 3/16 on 1,800 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Merrill Lynch August 50 series, up 1/2 to 2-1/4 on 2,31 contracts, followed by the Nabisco October 10 series down 1/4 to 1-1/4 on 2,520 contracts. The third most active was the Lotus Development Corporation July 30 series, unchanged at 1/16 on 2,149 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 S&P Midcap Index: up .11 to 136.13. Contracts volume 2,794, with 1,527 puts and 1,267 calls.
 Major Market Index: down .39 to 348.63. Contracts volume 14,659, with 7,566 puts and 7,093 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index (XLT): down .04 to 34.86. Contracts volume 1,332 with 1,332 puts and 0 calls.
 Institutional Index: up .22 to 417.83. Contracts volume 2,627 with 2,172 puts and 455 calls.
 Japan Index: down 3.36 to 159.42. Contracts volume 1,638, with 930 puts and 708 calls.
 Pharmaceutical Index: up .56 to 202.08. Contracts volume 594, with 265 puts and 329 calls.
 Computer Technology Index: down .62 to 116.05. Contracts volume 42, with 42 puts and 0 calls.
 Oil Index: down 1.87 to 227.02. Contracts volume 65, with 13 puts and 52 calls.
 Equity Options Volume: 53,644 puts and 89,444 calls.

 Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed lower this week in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 5.35 for the week to 374.04. The Market Value Index reached its intraday high of 379.41 on Monday and slipped to its intraday low of 373.71 on Thursday. The average price per share fell five cents this week.
 Regular session stock volume for the week totaled 50,769,855 shares, down from the volume of 56,809,425 shares traded last week.
 Options trading was moderate this week as 919,705 contracts changed hands, compared with 948,545 contracts traded in last week's session.
