 NEW YORK, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 0.89 to 393.95. Declines led advances 281 to 232 with 246 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell 3 cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 11,319,520 shares, up from the 10,524,915 shares traded yesterday. After-Hours volume totaled 2,000 shares, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 11,321,520 shares.
 Topping the most active list was International Corona Corp., unchanged at 4-1/16 on 536,300 shares, followed by Amdahl Corp., down 5/8 to 15-3/4 on 404,400 shares. The third most active issue, Echo Bay Mines was up 1/8 to 5-7/8 on 333,000 shares.

 Today's volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 361,300 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Intertel Communications, up 1/8 to 1-5/16 on 166,600 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 136,450 contracts changing hands as compared with 133,090 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the American Express Jan 20 series, unchanged at 1 on 2,000 contracts, followed by the MidCap Jul 140 series, down 3/16 to 1-3/8 on 1,169 contracts. The third most active was the Centel Oct 30 series up 1/16 to 1-3/4 on 1,060 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Philips Petroleum Jul 25 series, down 1/2 to 1-1/8 on 2,005 contracts, followed by the Walt Disney Jun 40 series unchanged at 1/2 on 1,888 contracts. The third most active was the Unisys Jun 10 series, up 1/8 to 5/16 on 1,602 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 S&P Midcap Index: up .11 to 145.13. Contracts volume 5,271, with 3,601 puts and 1,670 calls.
 Major Market Index: down 3.89 to 357.28. Contracts volume 6,214, with 3,797 puts and 2,417 calls.
 Capped Major Market Index: down 3.89 to 357.28. Contracts volume 0, with 0 puts and 0 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index (XLT) Index: down .39 to 35.73. Contracts volume 997 with 22 puts and 975 calls.
