    NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in heavy trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 10.78 to 380.91. Declines led advances 488 to 149 with 219 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell 34 cents.
    Stock volume for the regular session totaled 20,926,420 shares, up from the 15,333,850 shares traded yesterday.  After-hours volume totaled 1,600 shares, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 20,928,020 shares.
    There were 297 block trades, while 199 blocks were traded in the previous trading session.
    Topping the most active list was Rhone-Poulenc CVR's, up 1/4 to 2-1/8 on 931,000 shares, followed by Xytronics, Inc. down 14-3/8 to 13-1/4 on 664,400 shares.  The third most active issue, Organogenesis, was down 5-1/8 to 19-7/8 on 494,000 shares.

    Trading in options was heavy today with 343,712 contracts changing hands as compared with 202,384 contracts traded yesterday.  Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
    Topping the most active list in puts was the Philip Morris Nov. 70 series, up 1-3/8 to 1-5/8 on 7,743 contracts, followed by the Philip Morris Dec. 70 series, up 1-3/8 to 3 on 6,078 contracts.  The third most active was the Institutional Index Dec. 350 series up 1/8 to 3/8 on 5,101 contracts.
    Topping the most active list in calls was the Major Market Index Nov. 325 series, down 2-13/16 to 1/16 on 5,094 contracts, followed by the Institutional Index Dec. 350 series up 3-3/8 to 61-3/4 on 5,026 contracts.  The third most active was the Institutional Index Dec. 450 series, unchanged at 1/16 on 5,026 contracts.
              AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE WEEKLY REPORT
    Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed lower this week in heavy trading.  The Amex Market Value Index closed down 9.57 for the week to 380.91.  The Market Value Index reached its intraday high of 393.01 on Tuesday and slipped to its intraday low of 380.60 on Friday. The average price per share fell 38 cents this week.
    Regular session stock volume for the week totaled 78,646,430 shares, up from the volume of 71,709,020 shares traded last week.  After-hours trading for the week totaled 2,500 shares.  There were 852 blocks traded during the week, compared with 1,047 blocks traded the previous week.
    Options trading was active this week as 1021,601 contracts changed hands, compared with 678,127 contracts traded in last week's session.
