AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE APPROVES AIR METHODS CORPORATION COMMON STOCK FOR MARGINABILITY

 DENVER, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corporation (AMEX: ARF.EC), the nation's largest exclusive provider of air medical services and systems, today announced that it had been notified recently by the Board of Governors of the American Stock Exchange that the Air Methods common stock has been included in the list of marginable securities that are listed on the American Stock Exchange Emerging Company Marketplace. This announcement is effectively immediately. The determination was made by the Exchange based upon satisfying standards comparable to those established for inclusion in the list of OTC marginable securities. Terry Schreier, chairman & CEO of Air Methods, noted that the company's inclusion in the marginable securities list complements the company's recent financial results which have been characterized by a turnaround in its operating performance through the first nine months of its current fiscal year.
 Requirements for margining of securities are established by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and applied by the American Stock Exchange. Securities of publicly-traded corporations such as Air Methods Corporation are eligible for marginability based upon predetermined guidelines established by these governing bodies. In essence, for a security to be marginable, certain qualitative and quantitative measures and tests must be met in accordance with these guidelines.
 Air Methods Corporation is the largest exclusive provider of state- of-the-art emergency air medical transportation systems and services to hospitals throughout the United States. Air Methods now serves 43 hospitals in 12 states under 19 dedicated long-term operating agreements. The company utilizes only IFR-certified pilots and aircraft, including 26 helicopters and four airplanes, to perform these services. In addition, Air Methods offers completely integrated airborne medical systems for administering intensive care to patients while flying to a trauma center or tertiary care facility, either from outlying hospitals or the scene of an accident.
