 AMERICAN NURSERY PRODUCTS ANNOUNCES RESULTS
 TAHLEQUAH, Okla., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ - American Nursery Products


Inc. (NASDAQ: ANSY) announced operating results for the three and six months ended Nov. 30, 1991. The company's interim results of operations reflect the seasonality of the nursery business as most shipments are made during the period February through May while operational costs are incurred throughout the year.
 Consolidated net sales for the six months ended Nov. 30, 1991, were $6,619,000 compared to $8,989,000 for the same period last year. The net loss was $2,273,000 or $.61 per share last year.
 Consolidated net sales for the three months ended Nov. 30, 1991, were $3,480,000 compared to $3,897,000 for the same period last year. The net loss was $1,489,000 or $.40 per share compared to a net loss of $1,290,000 or $.35 per share for the second quarter last year.
 The company also announced additional implementations of its reorganizational plan. The corporation intends to fully divest itself of its foliage operations in Miami and Apopka, Florida, and its nursery operations in Shenandoah, Iowa, and Madison, Ohio. When the reorganization is complete, American Nursery Products Inc. will be a full line producer of woody ornamental plants with greater emphasis on container production consisting of three strategically located and geographically diverse operations, Mid- Western Nurseries in Oklahoma, Mid-Western of Alabama and Northland Evergreens Inc. in Michigan.
 In an unrelated matter, Les Cashmere, president of American Nursery Products Inc., announced today that Wayne Fields was elected by the board of directors as vice president of Finance. From 1987 until 1991, Fields was employed by Jumping-Jacks Shoes Inc., a publically traded company, last serving as senior vice president of Finance. From 1979 to 1987, he was an audit manager with Arthur Andersen and Co.
