AMERICAN MEDICAL HOLDINGS, INC. NAMES MARGO L. BARNES VICE PRESIDENT-CORPORATE AFFAIRS

 DALLAS, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- American Medical Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AMI) today announced the appointment of Margo L. Barnes as vice president - corporate affairs, with responsibility for all internal, external and shareholder communications. Barnes reports to AMI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert W. O'Leary.
 Barnes, 38, joins AMI with 15 years of experience in communications management, most recently with the Pittsburgh public affairs consulting firm Purser & Associates, where she was a partner providing communications counsel to clients in the financial services and various manufacturing industries. She began her career with Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation (now LTV Steel Company) in 1979 and, over the next six years, held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the company's Northwest Indiana, Pittsburgh and Cleveland offices. She joined Capital Holding Corporation in Louisville, Ky., in 1985 as vice president - corporate communications and PNC Financial Corp. (now PNC Bank Corp.) in 1988 as vice president - corporate affairs. She is a graduate of Purdue University.
 American Medical Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates 35 acute care and one psychiatric hospital in the United States, with the largest concentrations in Texas, California and Florida. The company is headquartered in Dallas.
