AMERICAN MEDCARE ENTERS THE HOSPITAL MARKET; OKLAHOMA CITY'S DEACONESS HOSPITAL PURCHASES MEDICAL PRACTICE MANAGER SYSTEM

NORCROSS, Ga., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- American Medcare Corporation (OTC: AMMC), one of the nation's foremost providers of healthcare productivity software, announced that Deaconess Hospital has become the first hospital ever to implement one of its systems.
In October 1993, Deaconess will begin using the Medical Practice Manager system developed by International Computer Solutions (ICS), American Medcare's largest subsidiary, to simplify hospital physicians' practices at four locations in greater Oklahoma City.
Expansion into the hospital market was a logical step for International Computer Solutions. Its comprehensive line of software and computer systems has been used in physicians' offices and clinics nationwide since 1979.
"We selected ICS because they offered a comprehensive yet simple software solution that we will develop for use by our physicians' practices," said John Ellis, hospital administrator at Deaconess. "In addition, ICS has provided excellent service and support, and we believe that we will be able to count on them in the future."
Medical Practice Manager is a comprehensive software program that provides healthcare environments with the ability to automate a number of duties previously performed manually. Among them are patient scheduling and billing, electronic insurance submissions, accounting and financial management. Medical Practice Manager integrates these functions into a single system, reducing administrative time and improving overall office efficiency.
American Medcare Corporation provides software systems and information services designed to contain and reduce administrative costs and paperwork associated with delivering healthcare services. Through Norcross-based International Computer Solutions, its largest subsidiary, American Medcare has more than 1,100 clients in 41 states.
