 AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE
 APPOINTMENTS IN REGIONAL ORGANIZATION
 NEW YORK, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) (AIG), has announced two executive appointments in the domestic regional organization of American International Companies.
 John Fallon, 64, has been appointed Chairman of West Coast Operations. In this newly-created position, Mr. Fallon will have direct responsibility for the San Francisco and Los Angeles Regions which encompass all of American International Companies' insurance operations on the West Coast including much of the Southwest, Hawaii and Alaska.
 James L. Williams, 48, the Resident Vice President for branch operations in Los Angeles succeeds Fallon as Los Angeles regional vice president.
 Fallon has been with American International Companies for over 30 years. He has held a variety of management positions throughout the United States concentrating mostly on the West Coast. Fallon joined American International Companies in 1960 as an underwriter, and subsequently held executive positions in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.
 Williams has been with AIG for over 20 years, much of that time in management positions in the company's extensive Southeast Asian general insurance operations. His most recent position was resident vice president for branch operations in Los Angeles. Prior to that, he resided in Hong Kong as senior vice president and regional general manager for American International Underwriters in Southeast Asia.
 Claude Van Vliet, American International Companies' San Francisco regional vice president continues in that position.
