AMERICAN GREETINGS UNVEILS WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS CARD (Directory)

 CLEVELAND, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- American Greetings (NASDAQ: AGREA) today unveiled the official 1993 White House Christmas Card. The greeting card giant was chosen to produce Christmas cards for the First family and for Vice President Al Gore and his family.
 "It's been a pleasure to work with the White House in the creation of the first Christmas card of the Clinton administration," said Morry Weiss, chairman and chief executive officer for American Greetings. "We are honored to have lent our creative expertise to the Clintons in communicating their holiday greetings."
 The White House card features a Christmas photograph of President and Mrs. Clinton by world renowned portrait artist Neal Slavin. Inside, the cards feature the official Presidential seal, and signatures of the President and First Lady.
 The Gore's Christmas cards feature a family portrait, and a hand- written message from the Vice President.
 In addition to cards for the first and second families, American Greetings designed and produced cards for Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker and Tennessee Governor Ned McWherter.
 "Christmas is the largest card sending holiday of the year, with more than 2.7 billion cards expected to be exchanged this year," said Harvey Levin, senior vice president, human resources. "And, in addition to creating cards for the public, American Greetings has a tradition of creating holiday greeting cards on both a national and state level."
 American Greetings is the world's largest publicly owned manufacturer and distributor of greeting cards and social expressions products, with annual revenues of $1.6 billion.
