AMERICAN GREETINGS TO PRESENT TREES TO ITS EMPLOYEES

AMERICAN GREETINGS TO PRESENT TREES TO ITS EMPLOYEES
On Friday, April 24 (Arbor Day), American Greetings Corp. will become Greater Cleveland's first company to present a tree to each of its employees with the distribution of 3,000 white pine seedlings that day.
The Arbor Day Plant a Tree project was conceived as a dramatic demonstration of the company's commitment to environmental awareness.
The seedlings, donated by the Mead Corp., are 14-16 inches tall, and are packaged in reusable and recyclable plastic tubes to retain moisture.
The City of Cleveland's Department of Urban Forestry has agreed to accept any donated or leftover seedlings that day and will nurture them in the City Greenhouse until the trees are mature enough to be transplanted to Cleveland's park system.
The media is invited to cover the seedling distribution activity, which will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at American Greetings World Headquarters. When you come to our offices on American Road (near Tiedeman Road and Memphis Avenue in Brooklyn), ask for Jim Yasinow or Linda Gutfranski, who will assist you in getting your story.
CONTACT: Jim Yasinow of American Greetings, 216-252-7300, Ext. 1735.
