AMERICAN FOREST RESOURCE ALLIANCE COMMENTS ON FRAMPTON APPOINTMENT

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement was issued by Mark Rey, vice president for Forest Resources for the American Forest Resource Alliance, on the nomination of George Frampton Jr. as assistant secretary of the Interior for Fish, Wildlife and Parks:
"After calling for the quick approval of the nomination for Agriculture and Interior secretary, we believe the nominees of Mr. Frampton calls for a more deliberate review.
"Given his deep involvement in issues of concern to the forest products industry and timber-dependent communities, as well as to other resource-dependent industries, we will withhold judgment pending the upcoming Senate hearings on his nomination.
"We intent to study Mr. Frampton's record carefully and ask for a chance to testify at his Senate confirmation hearings."
