AMERICAN FILM TECHNOLOGIES REDUCES OPERATIONS

 LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- American Film Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: AFTI) announced today that it is temporarily suspending business operations in Mexico and has significantly reduced operations in the United States.
 In addition, the company consented to an entry of a temporary protective order in a California court in favor of its bank pursuant to which the company is prohibited from transferring or encumbering assets except in the ordinary course of business.
 The company is also discussing with its legal counsel the advisability of seeking protection under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
 Earlier today, trading in the common stock of American Film Technologies Inc. was temporarily halted by NASDAQ at the company's request pending this announcement.
