 NEW YORK, Nov. 16 ~PRNewswire~ -- American Express will be the exclusive sponsor of a Diana Ross concert that will be simulcast for pay-per-view in New York, Dec. 4, 1992. This announcement was made jointly today by Kenneth I. Chenault, president of the Consumer Card Group of American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc., John Scher, president of PolyGram Diversified Entertainment (PDE), and Diana Ross' ANAID Productions, Inc.
 The event, "Diana Ross Live...The Lady Sings" will feature this legendary entertainer performing jazz and blues and music that she loves. It will be presented live from New York City in an intimate setting, evoking a smoky after-hours club. A limited number of tickets to the live event will be available for purchase exclusively by American Express Cardmembers. This concert and pay-per-view event will showcase Diana Ross' extraordinary vocal talents as well as provide a unique and private glimpse into the music which influenced her incomparable singing career. The event, 90 minutes long, will allow the audience to savor the richness and depth of Diana Ross' live performance.

 Since first signing with Motown in 1961, Diana Ross has achieved unparalleled success as a leader of the Supremes and as a solo performer, producing a stream of endless number one hits worldwide and selling out concert tours on every continent of the globe. But Ross' achievements do not lie solely within the music industry. She received an Academy Award nomination for her first film role as jazz great Billie Holiday in "Lady Sings The Blues." The soundtrack album was a huge success and reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
 "Diana Ross Live...The Lady Sings" will be distributed by Viewer's Choice, Graff Pay-Per-View and Reiss Media Entertainment Corp. (Request T.V.) for $19.95. It will also be distributed by London-based PolyGram Television International outside of North America.
