AMERICAN DESIGNER JOSEPH ABBOUD CHOSEN AS STYLEMAKER
                  FOR CBS OLYMPIC SPORTSCASTERS
BOSTON, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- CBS-TV's Tim Carver, Pat O'Brien, and Jim Brown -- men whose personal style and good looks compete in no small way with their newscasting talents -- will look better than ever when they begin reporting from the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, this weekend... they'll be dressed from head to toe by Joseph Abboud, the award-winning American designer whose fashions for men have taken the world by storm.
In an unprecedented move, CBS Sports, in association with Clothes, Inc., a Los Angeles-based wardrobe service, invited a select handful of designers to help them "unify" the appearance of their on-air personalities. The goal is to create a "totally integrated look" for its broadcasts of the XVIth Olympic games, with sets, graphics and attire complementing one another.
CBS baseball commentator Tim McCarver will act as prime time host for the 116 hours of teleplay being devoted to the games by CBS. McCarver will be seen wearing shirts, jackets, sweaters, ties, slacks, and accessories from Abboud's trend-setting winter line.
Those watching the games in color will note the warm, earthy hues and the rich, textured fabrics that typify the Abboud look. A total of 17 ensembles each were created for McCarver, O'Brien and Brown, as well as: John Davidson, Mike Emrick, Mike Eruzione, Greg Gumbel, Scott Hamilton, Verne Lundquist, Jim Nantz and Harry Smith.
"Defining and polishing the images of the nation's top sports announcers has been an exciting challenge," said Abboud.
"We feel we've created something that not only has wonderful style, but allows the individual to come through."
"We're going for the gold this year with the introduction of our J.O.E. (Just One Earth) sportswear collection, the launch of fragrances for men and women, and sales in more than 70 stores throughout Europe."
