 AMERICAN BUSINESS PRODUCTS INCREASES DIVIDEND
 FOR 35TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR
 ATLANTA, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- American Business Products, Inc. (ABP) (NYSE: ABP) today announced an increase in the quarterly dividend on its common stock, making this the 35th consecutive year of higher dividends.
 The board of directors approved an increase from 15.6 cents per share to 17.5 cents per share, as adjusted for a 3-for-2 stock split effected in the form of a 50 percent stock dividend on Dec. 16, 1991.
 The new rate of 17.5 cents per share will be paid March 16 to shareholders of record on March 1.
 "This is an indicated annual rate of 70.0 cents per share for 1992, compared with 62.6 cents per share last year, as adjusted for the split," said Thomas R. Carmody, president and chief executive officer. "The board of directors approved the dividend increases in view of the company's strong growth and in furtherance of our commitment to reward our shareholders."
 Dividends have been paid every year without interruption for 55 years since the Depression year of 1936. Since APB's initial public offering in 1969, dividends per share have been increased by more than 40 times. ABP's record won it recognition as one of Moody's Investors Service's 1991 "Dividend Achievers." ABP was among only 360 companies qualifying out of more than 12,000 reviewed by Moody's.
 ABP recently reported record 1991 sales of $446.5 million, up 12 percent, and record net income of $16.5 million, up 15.6 percent. It was the 53rd year in a row of higher sales for the Atlanta-based company.
 ABP's operating companies and their products and services: Curtis 1000 Inc., business forms and envelopes; Vanier Graphics Corporation, business forms; BookCrafters USA, Inc., book printing and distribution; American Fiber-Velope Mfg. Co., specialty envelopes and filing systems; and Jen-Coat, Inc., specialty extrusion coating of packaging. ABP is a joint venture partner in Curtis 1000 Europe GmbH, a producer and marketer of envelopes in Europe.
