OMAHA, Neb., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- American Business Information, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABII) today announced it has acquired an 80 percent interest in Business Communications & Information, Inc. ("BCI"). BCI is a leading provider of continuing education and training programs to small and medium-sized businesses. The company was privately held, and based in Kansas City, Kan. During 1992, it offered 1,700 different training programs to more than 70,000 customers. Annual revenues for the 1992 calendar year were $7.3 million. Robert J. "American Business Information has been a pioneer in providing business information in many forms to meet different business needs. The information is provided over the phone, via fax, from a PC, or in hard copy so that businesses can use information to solve their marketing problems. BCI will be renamed 'AMERICAN BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS, INC.' and will keep its current educational programs and offer additional new training topics in the marketing area."
