AMERICAN AIRLINES BEGINS DAILY SERVICE TO ST. MAARTEN, MAY 1
MIAMI, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, May 1, 1992, American Airlines begins daily non-stop service from Miami to the Caribbean Island of St. Maarten on the 194-seat Boeing 757-200.
Flight No. 485 departs Miami International Airport at 11:10 a.m. and arrives in St. Maarten at 1:58 p.m.
American Airlines will fly passengers non-stop from St. Maarten to Miami on flight No. 478, departing daily at 2:28 p.m. and arriving in Miami at 5:36 p.m.
American Airlines is the only airline that serves St. Maarten with a daily non-stop flight from Miami.
"American's new service to St. Maarten is wonderful for travelers, because the flight arrives early enough in the afternoon for them to check into a hotel and enjoy the rest of the day," says Brian Meister, manager passenger sales for American Airlines. "By the same virtue," he adds, "the return flight gives travelers time on the island in the morning and they can be back in Miami in time for dinner."
American Airlines, with a fleet of more than 600 aircraft, is the largest carrier in the South Florida market. American and American Eagle currently offer 191 flights a day to 68 destinations, from Miami.
