AMERICA ONLINE, INC., ANNOUNCES MEDIA ALLIANCE WITH HACHETTE FILIPACCHI MAGAZINES

 VIENNA, Va., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- America Online, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AMER), today announced an alliance with Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, the U.S. subsidiary of Matra Hachette, the world's largest magazine company, to provide subscribers with interactive access to Road & Track, Car and Driver, Popular Photography, Stereo Review and Flying magazines.
 Through this alliance, America Online subscribers will be able to access editorial content from the five selected titles, as well as engage in interactive discussions with the magazines' editors and experts in the automotive, photography, music and aviation fields. Additionally, an electronic subscription service will allow members to order a printed version of the magazine.

"Next year, we're planning to make available to America Online other titles of Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, including Elle, Woman's Day, Cycle World and Boating, which have a combined readership of 46 million."

 Hachette Filipacchi Magazines joins other leading print and broadcast media companies on America Online including Time Magazine, The New Republic, OMNI, The Atlantic Monthly, Chicago Tribune, San Jose Mercury News, CNN and National Public Radio, as well as a number of other special-interest titles. A fixed monthly fee of just $9.95 provides access to all of America Online's services -- including the new Hachette Filipacchi Magazines services -- for up to 5 hours each month.
