AMERICA ONLINE, INC., ANNOUNCES ALLIANCES WITH THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY AND WINDOWS MAGAZINE

 Magazines Join Growing List of Media Companies of America Online
 VIENNA, Va., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- America Online, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AMER), today announced that it has added two magazines to the company's growing list of media alliances -- THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY, one of the nation's oldest and most influential magazines, and WINDOWS MAGAZINE, a publication which provides a rich and lively source of news and information for the rapidly-growing Windows market.
 THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY, winner of the 1993 National Magazine Award for General Excellence, is a magazine for readers who actively pursue an educated lifestyle. A wide range of major issues, including education, the environment, energy, global economics, health care, and international relations, are covered in the magazine along with regular departments featuring travel, food, book reviews, fiction, design and music.
