AMD launches Radeon HD 6990.

WORLDWIDE COMPUTER PRODUCTS NEWS-March 8, 2011-AMD launches Radeon HD 6990(C)1995-2011 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Graphics and computing technologies provider AMD (NYSE:AMD) announced on Tuesday the launch of the fastest graphics card in the world, the AMD Radeon HD 6990, which delivered a new single graphics card world record score of P11865 in the 3DMark11 benchmark.

According to the company, the new graphics cards include AMD's second-generation, Microsoft DirectX 11-capable architecture, 4GB of GDDR5 memory, advanced image quality features and AMD PowerTune intelligent technology to enable higher clock speeds and faster gaming.

The graphics cards also offer native support for up to five displays using AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology, with six display support possible via DisplayPort 1.2 components available for purchase later in 2011, as well as dual-BIOS toggle switch.

Pricing starts at USD699 for select models.
