Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC)(Nasdaq:AMCC), a provider of solutions for processing, moving and storing of data, announced on Tuesday (10 March) that Synectics Security Networks, a provider of advanced closed circuit television (CCTV) systems control, network integration and digital recording solutions for security surveillance applications, has selected SATA II RAID controllers from 3ware storage division for its CCTV storage platform.

AMCC said that Synectics is integrating its 3ware 9650SE 12-port SATA II RAID controller into its 12-drive MDRS Primary Storage Node (PSN), a flexible and scalable CCTV storage platform designed to meet a wide range of data retention and video performance requirements.

The Synectics MDRS PSN features a RAID 6 configuration for protection against dual-drive failure and is designed to record MPEG-encoded video streams from either direct-attached or network-attached video encoders.
