 The American Mining Congress (AMC) President John A. Knebel will present the results of a major economic impact study examining the financial repercussions of legislation to repeal the General Mining Law.
 The study, prepared by the accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand and the law firm of Davis, Graham & Stubbs, offers the first comprehensive analysis of the economic effects, in terms of lost jobs, revenues and competitiveness, that Mining Law legislation pending in Congress will have on the economic well-being of the United States in general and on key western mining states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming in particular.
 AMC will be providing a radio news release concerning the study. The release is available by calling 800-262-6387. Audio reports will be available today for Washington, Idaho and Montana; Jan. 29, Utah; Jan. 30, Nevada; and Jan. 31 for Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
 AMC also will be providing a video news release (VNR). The VNRs include state-specific information and are being transmitted in advance of the regional news conferences.
