 TWO WEEKS BEFORE SHOW RE-OPENS ON BROADWAY
 Letterboxed Version to Premiere on Brando's Birthday, April 3;
 Full-Screen Version Debuts April 26
 WOODBURY, N.Y., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Movie Classics television network announced today it will premiere the screen version of the classic musical "Guys and Dolls" on April 3 -- two weeks before the show returns to Broadway.
 AMC will premiere the wide-screen or "letterboxed" version on Friday, April 3, Marlon Brando's 68th birthday, at 9 p.m. (ET). AMC will then present the full-screen version on Thursday, April 26, at 9 p.m. (ET).
 Beginning previews this week, the new stage adaptation of "Guys and Dolls" opens on Tuesday, April 14, at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York.
 The 1955 screen adaptation of "Guys and Dolls" features Brando in his singing debut as Sky Masterson, a high-rolling gambler who, in order to win a bet, tries to convince a prudish Salvation Army volunteer (Jean Simmons) to accompany him to Havana. Simultaneously, Frank Sinatra, as Nathan Detroit, is the proprietor of the oldest established floating crap game in New York while trying to keep his fiancee of 14 years happy. "Guys and Dolls" is directed by four-time Academy Award-winner Joseph L. Mankiewicz and features a Frank Loesser score.
 This is only the second time American Movie Classics will present different formats of the same film. On Friday, March 20, at 8 p.m. (ET), AMC will premiere the wide-screen or "letterboxed" version of the recently restored epic "Spartacus," then present the full-screen version on Sunday, March 29, at 9 p.m. (ET).
 American Movie Classics is the only 24-hour basic cable network devoted exclusively to presenting Hollywood's greatest motion pictures from the 1930s through the 1970s as they were originally presented to be seen: unedited, uninterrupted, commercial-free and without colorization. AMC is part of Rainbow Programming Holdings, Inc., which also includes Bravo, the SportsChannel Regional Network and is affiliated with SportsChannel America.
