AMBRA UNVEILS LINE OF MOBILE SYSTEMS; SIX MODELS ADDRESS DIVERSE USER NEEDS; FOUR POUND COLOR MODEL PRICED AT $1,899

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- AMBRA(TM) Computer Corporation today announced a new line of six portable systems based on Intel 486 microprocessors. Designed for particular segments of the mobile market, AMBRA's new systems are targeted toward a broadening market niche commonly referred to as the "road warrior," as well as the enhanced mobile user who needs desktop performance in a portable package.
Weighing in at four pounds (including battery), AMBRA's SN series delivers 25MHz 486SX-SL enhanced performance, a choice of color or monochrome display, and a removable hard disk -- with prices starting at $1,399. AMBRA's N series provides up to 50MHz 486DX-2 power and can accommodate up to 12MB of RAM and a 200MB hard drive in a six and a half pound package. N series prices start at $2,299.
"Our market studies clearly show a distinct stratification of the mobile market," said David B. Middleton, president and CEO of AMBRA Computer Corporation. "And AMBRA has a terrific opportunity to capture market share by delivering high performance portable systems for the 'road warrior' and enhanced mobile user."
