AMAX GOLD ELECTS PAUL W. MACAVOY TO BOARD GOLDEN, Colo., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Amax Gold Inc.
(NYSE: AU; Toronto: AXG) today announced the election of Paul Webster MacAvoy to the Amax Gold board of directors. MacAvoy is the Williams Brothers Professor of Management Studies, School of Organization and Management, Yale University.
He has been Visiting McLaughlin Professor at The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College in 1991 and was Dean and John M. Olin Professor of Public Policy and Business Administration of the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester from 1982 to 1991. Previous to these university appointments, he was a member of the President's Council of Economic Advisors in the Ford administration. MacAvoy received an A.B. degree from Bates College and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University. He serves on the board of directors of AMAX Inc., American Cyanamid Co. and Gleason Corp. MacAvoy is an Elected Fellow of The American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
