ALR SYSTEMS SELECTED AS THE PREFERRED CHOICE
 FOR THE BEIJING UNIVERSITY COMMITTEE
IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Beijing University Committee, which represents all the universities in Beijing, has selected ALR as the microcomputer system purchasing choice. After a thorough evaluation, the committee concluded that ALR computer systems offer the best value and features for the price when compared to other PC brands.
To date, the Beijing University Committee has purchased 1,700 ALR microcomputer systems to promote computerization in the universities and to increase the computer literacy among undergraduates, postgraduates and lecturers. These systems consist of ALR's ISA- based, PowerFlex Plus, EISA-based BusinessVEISA, and POWERPRO fileserver systems.
To support the committee's effort, Cheflink Ltd., a China dealer of Advanced Logic Research (NASDAQ-NMS: AALR), Singapore subsidiary, purchased additional units of PowerFlex Plus, BusinessVEISA and POWERPRO to be placed in three Peking University computer laboratories.
Dave Kirkey, vice president of worldwide marketing and International Sales at ALR says, "We congratulate Peking University for having the foresight in applying massive PC technology to be used for educating the next generation and
thus setting itself as an example for others to follow." Kirkey continues to say, "Furthermore, Peking University will have one of the largest installation of ALR PC products in Asia. Currently, ALR has over 2,000 computer systems installed at the Singapore Nanyang Technological University."
Receiving these machines on behalf of Peking University is Wang Yiqui, provost and vice president of Peking University at the Great
Hall of The People in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. "Nowadays, the capabilities of an employee is judged based on his or her knowledge of computers. Therefore, Peking University decided to undertake the important task of setting up more computer laboratories to educate future generations so that they are better equipped for their jobs," said Wang.
Present at the ceremony are the vice president of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Honorary Chairman of China Association for Science and Technology Zhou Pei Yuan, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Association for Promoting Democracy Lei Jie Qiong and Vice Chairman, Department of Higher Education State Commission of P.R.C. and Director of Higher Education Associate on China Wang Lei.
