ALLY McCoist fears troubled pal Paul Gascoigne is on the brink and prays the former Rangers star will save himself before it's too late.
The Ibrox boss sent a message of support to his friend and fellow Ibrox icon after disturbing pictures of a frail Gazza emerged on Thursday.
Gascoigne, who has battled alcoholism and mental health issues, faces eviction from his home and was seen slumped outside the flat with a bottle of vodka before being admitted to hospital.
Last night McCoist said: "Paul just looks a pour soul and everyone has real major concerns as to where this is going to go. It is not good.
"Everyone at Rangers is praying for him. He has an addiction problem and it's a serious illness and that's why we can't give up on Gazza. We can do everything to help but there has to be an inner strength and desire to help yourself. That's what Paul has to find."
