ALLTEL'S SYSTEMATICS HEALTHCARE SERVICES SIGNS FIRST HOSPITAL OUTSOURCING CUSTOMER

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- ALLTEL Corporation (NYSE: AT) announced today that its Systematics Healthcare Services, Inc. subsidiary has signed its first hospital outsourcing contract with St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va.
Under terms of the five-year contract, Systematics will assume all healthcare information systems operations for this 375-bed hospital -- including providing on-site and remote management, software implementation and support, hardware and network management and maintenance, disaster planning and recovery services. St. Joseph's, a current software client of Systematics' TDS subsidiary, will upgrade to the TDS 7000 Series, one of the industry's most comprehensive patient- centered healthcare enterprise information systems.
This agreement comes only three months after ALLTEL acquired TDS and announced plans to pursue outsourcing opportunities in the healthcare industry. According to ALLTEL Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joe Ford, "We acquired TDS because we were confident that the combination of TDS' premier software and Systematics' outsourcing expertise would make us a major force in the healthcare processing market. We are pleased to have secured a contract in so short a time, and we look forward to developing additional business in this market."
Systematics, with clients throughout the United States and in 34 countries around the world, provides information processing management, outsourcing services and software to the financial, telecommunications and healthcare industries. It is a subsidiary of ALLTEL.
ALLTEL Corporation (NYSE: AT) is a leading telecommunications and information services company. In addition to providing local telephone service, ALLTEL subsidiaries provide cellular telephone service, information services and communications products.
