ALLIED-SIGNAL AUTOMOTIVE EARNS FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AWARD
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Spark plugs from Allied- Signal Automotive are igniting a new level of customer satisfaction at Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F).
Allied-Signal Automotive's Filter and Spark Plug Group has received a Customer Satisfaction Award from Ford's Parts and Service Division for outstanding performance in supplying Motorcraft spark plugs during the last several years. Allied-Signal is the only supplier outside the Ford organization to receive the award this year.
Allied-Signal Automotive earned the award by demonstrating outstanding delivery of high-quality Motorcraft spark plugs within Ford's established lead times, according to Norm Recla, a purchasing agent for Ford's Parts and Service Division.
Representatives from Allied-Signal Automotive's Filter and Spark Plug Group in Fostoria, Ohio, where the spark plugs are made, accepted the award recently at the Ford Parts and Service Division's general office in Dearborn, Mich. The award was presented by Pete McIntosh, supply and distribution manager, and Tom O'Neill, general procurement manager, both of Ford Parts and Service Division. Those accepting included Jack Dobbs, president of the local United Auto Workers union at the Fostoria plant; Robert Ruffin, vice president and general manager of the Filter and Spark Plug Group; and Terry Riley, vice president of sales and marketing for the Filter and Spark Plug Group.
"It's a great honor to receive this award, which demonstrates that our commitment to customer satisfaction is more than just talk," Riley said. "It's also a tribute to the many people involved in the design, manufacture and delivery of Motorcraft spark plugs."
The award is a re-creation -- etched in brass -- of the universal ring dial, a precisely calibrated timepiece, given to the nation's first president, George Washington, by his close friend and military aide, Marquis de Lafayette. The purpose of the award is to recognize significant efforts and improvements made by employees of Ford and outside suppliers.
Allied-Signal Automotive's Filter and Spark Plug Group is one of the largest spark plug suppliers in the United States and is expanding its business in Europe, Latin America and the Pacific Rim.
Allied-Signal Automotive, based in Southfield, is a business unit of Allied-Signal Inc. (NYSE: ALD), an advanced technology company with businesses in aerospace, automotive and engineered materials. Allied-Signal Inc. is headquartered in Morristown, N.J.
