ALLIED CLINICAL LABS NOTIFIED TO EXPECT A SUBPOENA

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Allied Clinical Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACLB) announced today that it has been notified that it should expect to receive a subpoena from the Office of Audit of the Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services requesting documents in connection with an investigation and internal review.
The investigation relates to the possible submission of allegedly false or improper claims for reimbursement under the Medicare or Medicaid programs.
The company believes that its policies comply with all laws applicable to the Medicare and Medicaid programs and intends to cooperate fully in the investigation.
The inquiry requests a broad range of documents, including those relating to the company's selling, pricing and billing practices. Other independent clinical laboratory companies have received similar notices as part of what appears to be a nationwide audit and investigation of certain clinical laboratory industry practices.
