ALLIANCE IMAGING ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF SERVICES ORANGE, Calif., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliance Imaging Inc.
(NASDAQ: SCAN) announced today the commencement of full-time MRI services under a five-year contract at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital in New Orleans. Services will be provided on a new Siemens Impact 1.0 Tesla MRI scanner. The MRI unit is housed in a modular building which is connected to the hospital to maximize patient convenience. The company had previously been serving the hospital using a mobile MRI unit.
The company also announced that it has signed long-term contracts with two hospitals in Washington state to provide shared-user MRI services. Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen and Island Hospital in Anacortes will begin receiving services in August on a new General Electric Signal .5 Tesla mobile MRI scanner. Washington represents the 26th state in which Alliance provides diagnostic imaging services. Richard N. Zehner, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Alliance Imaging, noted that the contracts are indicative of the company's growth strategy of providing full-time MRI services under long-term contracts as well as expansion into new regions of the country not currently served.
