ALLEN NAMED CEO OF BARNETT BANK OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

 SARASOTA, Fla., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Rebecca S. Allen has been named president and chief executive officer of the Barnett Bank of Southwest Florida effective April 1, Rick Brewer, regional banking executive for the Central Region announced.
 Allen, 51, is currently chief operating officer of First Florida Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Barnett Banks, Inc. until March 19 when its assets will be split among various Barnett banks. Allen was the on-site coordinator for the merger between First Florida Banks, Inc. and Barnett Banks, Inc. (NYSE: BBI).
 Previously, Allen was president and chief executive officer of Barnett Bank of the Treasure Coast from 1986 to 1992. Before that, she served in various positions, including director of marketing, at Barnett Bank of Alachua County from 1984 through 1986. Allen attended the University of Florida and is a native of Gainesville.
