ALDUS RECEIVES SECOND REQUEST FROM THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION

 SEATTLE, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Aldus Corp. (NASDAQ: ALDC) today announced that the Federal Trade Commission has requested additional information from the company under the pre-merger notification requirements of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.
 The FTC request is in connection with a definitive merger agreement involving Aldus and Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBE) of Mountain View, Calif. The agreement was announced on March 15, 1994.
 Aldus is undertaking to respond to the FTC request. The company plans no further comment at this time.
 Aldus Corp. creates computer software solutions that help people throughout the world effectively communicate information and ideas. The company focuses on three lines of business: applications for the professional publishing and prepress markets; applications for the general consumer market; and service and support programs for professional end-users.
