ALCOA COMPLETES PLAN TO REDUCE U.S. PRIMARY ALUMINUM OUTPUT

 PITTSBURGH, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcoa (NYSE: AA) announced today that it has completed implementation of the plan it announced February 7, 1994 to reduce primary aluminum production by 100,000 metric tons a year. The production curtailments were made at Rockdale, Texas, and Wenatchee, Washington.
 With these reductions, and those announced in 1993, Alcoa has 410,000 metric tons, or 31 percent, of its U.S. smelting system idle.
