ALCO STANDARD INCREASES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Alco Standard Board of Directors today increased the regular quarterly cash dividend to $.25 from $.24 per common share.
 This dividend is payable Dec. 10, 1993, to holders of record Nov. 22.
 This is the 29th consecutive year in which Alco has raised its dividend. For calendar year 1993, the company's total dividend will increase to $.97 per share, $.04 per share or 4.3 percent more than the $.93 per share paid in calendar year 1992.
 Regular dividends to holders of serial preferred stock of record on Dec. 13, 1993, will be paid on Jan. 1, 1994.
 In addition, preferred shareholders of record at the close of business on Dec. 13, 1993, holding depositary shares of Alco's Series "AA" preferred stock will be entitled to receive a dividend of $.59375 per depositary share, payable Jan. 2, 1994.
 Alco Standard Corporation (NYSE: ASN), headquartered in Valley Forge, is a publicly held distribution and services company. For its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1993, revenues were $6.5 billion.
