 ALCO STANDARD ACQUIRES WEISS BROS. MIQUON
 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Alco Standard Corporation


(NYSE: ASN) announced today that it has acquired Weiss Bros. Miquon, Incorporated of West Point, Pa., for an undisclosed amount of cash. The company sells paper, plastics and related products as well as maintenance supplies to the grocery, food processing, health care and manufacturing markets.
 Weiss Bros. Miquon will continue to operate from its present suburban Philadelphia location under the leadership of its president, Richard A. Check. It will become an operating company within Paper Corporation of America's Midlantic/Southeast region. Weiss Bros. Miquon's projected revenues for fiscal 1993 are $50 million.
 Raymond A. Peterson, president of Paper Corporation of America, stated, "Weiss Bros. Miquon is active in those focused market segments which are aligned with PCA's long-term strategy of increasing industrial product sales from 26 percent of total PCA sales to 35 percent to 40 percent by 1995. Additionally, this acquisition provides a broader array of products and services for our Delaware Valley customers."
 Paper Corporation of America, an Alco Standard company headquartered in Valley Forge, is the world's largest paper and industrial products distributor. Revenues for PCA were $3.7 billion last year.
 Alco Standard Corporation, also headquartered in Valley Forge, is a publicly owned paper and office products distribution company. For its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1992, revenues were $4.9 billion.
