 ALCO ACQUIRES NIGHTRIDER
 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Alco Standard Corporation


(NYSE: ASN) today acquired all of the outstanding common stock of NightRider Overnite Copy Service, headquartered in Houston, for an undisclosed amount of Alco common stock.
 NightRider, with revenues approaching $60 million, is one of the largest legal document production companies in the United States. The company operates a nationwide network of 30 offices, serving 33 metropolitan markets from coast to coast. NightRider, founded in 1986, will remain at its present locations under the leadership of its founder and principal shareholder, Richard L. Davis.
 NightRider will become part of Alco Office Products (AOP), the largest network of independent copier and office equipment dealers in North America and the only independent distribution network with national scope.
 Ray B. Mundt, chairman and chief executive officer of Alco Standard Corporation, stated, "NightRider and its 1,600 dedicated employees are the undisputed national leader in providing photocopy services to the legal profession. As an operating company within AOP, NightRider will not only expand in this strategic niche, but will also provide promising opportunities in other customer niches."
 John E. Stuart, president of Alco Office Products, added, "AOP has redefined the art of dealership management and brought our network of dealers to record levels of marketing and operating efficiency. With the acquisition of NightRider and the growth of our existing facilities management program, we expect to achieve similar levels in photocopy services."
 Alco Office Products, headquartered in Valley Forge, ended fiscal 1991 with revenues exceeding $1 billion and operating income of $80 million, representing a 35 percent increase in earnings over fiscal 1990. For the first six months of fiscal 1992, operating income jumped 28 percent over the first six months of fiscal 1991.
 Alco Standard Corporation, also headquartered in Valley Forge, is a publicly owned distribution and services company. For its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1991, revenues were $4.8 billion.
