ANASTACIA Heavy Rotation ***

ANASTACIA teamed up with producers including Ne-Yo and Rodney Jerkins for her fourth studio album as she bids to add to her 14 million European album sales to date. It's a mix of styles that might appeal to fans who have stuck with her through the rough times.

PINK Funhouse HHHII

IT would be easy to dismiss Pink as the grown up rebel pop version of Avril Lavigne, but so what? This album has a bunch of break up songs in the wake of her split from husband, motocross racer Carey Hart. Despite a raft of songwriters, several tracks limp by.

DAVID ARNOLD Quantum Of Solace ****

THE original motion picture soundtrack featuring the lead track Another Way To Die by Jack White and Alicia Keys, plus the soundtrack by the composer of Casino Royale. Play this while ducking past door frames and doing forward rolls in the comfort of your own home.

DAN LYTH Everything Is Simple ****

GENTLE lo-fi songs that follow a long lineage from Kathryn Williams and Adem to Damien Rice and others, this is a fantastic debut album from Dunfermline-based tunesmith Lyth.

VARIOUS MOS Annual 2009 ****

THE latest Ministry Of Sound annual delivers influential beats and mixes including Eric Prydz's Pjanoo and Dance Wit Me from Dizee Rascal.

RYAN ADAMS & THE CARDINALS Cardinology ****

THE 10th album from the wayward Adams is a return to form. Shades of Jayhawks and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers spring to mind on tracks such as Go Easy while Magick is Raconteurs without the tight underpants.

ZZ TOP Live From Texas ****

THE legendary Texas trio deliver up live versions of their classic tunes Gimme All Your Lovin' and Legs and plenty more on this gig, recorded last year.

THE SATURDAYS Chasing Lights ***

THE new pop onslaught begins with this five-piece girl group who will be hoping to take a slice of the market currently enjoyed by Girls Aloud. Two former S Club Juniors members and a bunch of songwriters and producers are helping their bid for fame.
