ALASKA LOWERS PACIFIC NORTHWEST/BAY AREA FARES

SEATTLE, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines has lowered its fares between the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area. The new fares also include Alaska's newest California destination, Sacramento.
Alaska, which offers the most daily round-trip flights between the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area, has lowered the price on its three- day advance purchase fares, as well as its "walk-up" fares requiring no advance purchase. The fares are non-refundable, seats are limited and other restrictions apply.
Examples of the new fares include:
-- Walk-up, one-way fares for $99 from Seattle and Portland to
Sacramento and to the Bay Area cities of San Francisco, Oakland
 and San Jose.
-- Three-day advance purchase tickets for as little as $69. The
three-day advance purchase fares require no round-trip purchase
and no Saturday night stay, enabling business people to take
 advantage of significant savings.
Round-trip tickets purchased a minimum of 14 days in advance are $118. The new discounts can be extended to through fares with Alaska's sister carrier, Horizon Air.
"These new fares offer an outstanding value to anyone planning to travel between the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area, particularly business people who by necessity tend to make arrangements at the last minute," said Bill McKnight, Alaska's vice president/marketing.
Seattle-based Alaska Airlines offers 28 round-trip flights between the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area, the most of any carrier serving those markets. The airline serves 44 cities in Alaska, Mexico, Russia and five Western states.
