ALASKA FLIGHT ATTENDANTS FILE SUIT

SEATTLE, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The flight attendants of Alaska Airlines, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, will file suit tomorrow against their company. This suit, the second filed since the implementation of AFA's CHAOS campaign, alleges that Alaska has unlawfully replaced and disciplined flight attendants who struck a series of Alaska flights over the past three weeks. The suit further seeks immediate reinstatement of all affected flight attendants.
Alaska's flight attendants have been working under work rules unilaterally imposed by the company after contract negotiations broke down June 19. Negotiations are presently in indefinite recess. No date has been set for resuming negotiations.
The Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, represents more than 33,000 flight attendants on 21 airlines, including 1,500 flight attendants at Alaska.
