ALASKA BEGINS JET SERVICE TO KODIAK, ANIAK AND ST. MARY'S
SEATTLE, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines begins jet service today from Anchorage to the communities of Kodiak, Aniak and St. Mary's, according to the airline.
The nonstop service to Kodiak complements flights currently provided by Alaska's code-sharing partner, Era Aviation. Service to Kodiak is scheduled once a day, six times a week, Sunday through Friday. Era offers five daily flights utilizing turboprop aircraft.
Alaska is also offering one-stop service from Anchorage through Bethel to Aniak on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and to St. Mary's on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights return nonstop to Anchorage.
Although passenger service to Aniak and St. Mary's commenced today, flights from the two communities will be cargo/mail operations exclusively until early October when the necessary passenger boarding equipment is expected to be in place.
With the additions of Kodiak, Aniak and St. Mary's, Alaska Airlines will serve 42 cities in Alaska, Mexico, Russia and five Western states.
