 SEATTLE, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air:
 ALASKA REPORTS OCTOBER TRAFFIC RESULTS
 Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its October traffic increased 5 percent to 366.3 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 350.5 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare paying passengers) for the month was 50.9 percent, compared to the 48.0 percent in October 1991.
 Capacity during October was 719.0 million available seat miles (ASMs), 2 percent lower than last year's 730.1 million. The airline carried 426,600 passengers in October compared to 425,200 in October 1991.
 For the 10 months ended October 1992, revenue passenger miles totaled 4.749 billion, a 15 percent increase from the 4.147 billion recorded a year earlier. The passenger load factor for the 10 months ended October 1992 was 58.2 percent, up from the 56.9 percent for the prior year.
 Capacity for the 10 months ended October 1992 increased 12 percent to 8.166 billion, up from 7.293 billion in 1991. The airline carried 5,346,000 passengers, compared to 4,931,000 in 1991.
 HORIZON AIR'S OCTOBER TRAFFIC UP 8 PERCENT
 Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its October traffic increased 8 percent to 40 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 37.1 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare paying passengers) for the month was 51.6 percent, down from 52.8 percent recorded in October 1991.
 The airline carried 197,985 passengers in October, a 7-percent increase from the 184,541 carried in October 1991. Capacity during October was 77.6 million available seat miles (ASMs), 10 percent higher than last year's 70.3 million.
 For the 10 months ended Oct. 31, 1992, revenue passenger miles totaled 403.9 million, a 21-percent increase from the 333.0 million recorded a year earlier. The passenger load factor for the 10 months ended Oct. 31, 1992, was 53.5 percent, compared to 51.0 percent for 1991.
 Capacity (ASMs) for the 10 months ended Oct. 31, 1992, increased 15 percent to 754.6 million, up from 653.4 million flown in 1991. The airline carried 1,978,556 passengers through October 1992, up 18 percent from the 1,671,149 in 1991.
