 ALASKA AIRLINES, HORIZON AIR REPORT DECEMBER TRAFFIC RESULTS
 SEATTLE, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air:
 ALASKA DECEMBER TRAFFIC UP 10 PERCENT
 Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its December traffic increased 10 percent to 440.3 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 400.1 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare paying passengers) for the month was 56.6 percent, compared to the 55.2 percent in December 1990.
 Capacity during December was 777.4 million available seat miles (ASMs), 7 percent higher than last year's 725.4 million. The airline carried 503,700 passengers in December compared to 478,900 in December 1990.
 For the 12 months ended December 1991, revenue passenger miles totaled 4.949 billion, a 10 percent increase from the 4.494 billion recorded a year earlier. The passenger load factor for the 12 months ended December 1991 was 56.3 percent, up from 53.6 percent for the prior year.
 Capacity for the 12 months ended December 1991 increased 5 percent to 8.790 billion, up from 8.380 billion in 1990. The airline carried 5,867,000 passengers, compared to 5,457,000 in 1990.
 HORIZON AIR'S DECEMBER TRAFFIC UP 23 PERCENT
 Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its December traffic increased 23 percent to 38.1 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 31.1 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare paying passengers) for the month was 56 percent, up from 52.5 percent recorded in December 1990.
 The airline carried 185,350 passengers in December, a 19 percent increase from the 156,183 carried in December 1990. Capacity during the month was 68.1 million available seat miles (ASMs), compared to 59.2 million in December 1990.
 For the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1991, revenue passenger miles totaled 404.9 million, a 13 percent increase from the 357.4 million recorded a year earlier. The passenger load factor for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1991, was 51.5 percent, compared to 49.6 percent for 1990.
 Capacity (ASMs) for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1991, increased 9 percent to 786 million, up from 719.9 million flown in 1990. The airline carried 2,022,406 passengers through December 1991, up 11 percent from the 1,816,368 in 1990.
