 SEATTLE, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air:
 ALASKA REPORTS APRIL TRAFFIC RESULTS
 Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its April traffic increased 9 percent to 426.9 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 392.2 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare-paying passengers) for the month was 55.7 percent, compared to the 60.2 percent in April 1991.
 Capacity during April was 766.6 million available seat miles (ASMs), 18 percent higher than last year's 651.1 million. The airline carried 474,900 passengers in April, compared to 472,700 in April 1991.
 For the four months ended April 1992, revenue passenger miles totaled 1.672 billion, a 14-percent increase from the 1.473 billion recorded a year earlier. The passenger load factor for the four months ended April 1992 was 54.2 percent, down from the 55.3 percent for the prior year.
 Capacity for the four months ended April 1992 increased 16 percent to 3.085 billion, up from 2.663 billion in 1991. The airline carried 1,856,000 passengers, compared to 1,757,000 in 1991.
 HORIZON AIR'S APRIL TRAFFIC UP 11 PERCENT
 Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its April traffic increased 11 percent to 34.1 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 30.6 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare-paying passengers) for the month was 46.2 percent, down from 49.4 percent recorded in April 1991.
 The airline carried 167,274 passengers in April, a 9-percent increase from the 153,329 carried in April 1991. Capacity during the month was 73.8 million available seat miles (ASMs), compared to 61.9 million in April 1991.
 For the four months ended April 30, 1992, revenue passenger miles totaled 134.9 million, a 19-percent increase from the 113.5 million recorded a year earlier. The passenger load factor for the four months ended April 30, 1992, was 47.6 percent, compared to 46.7 percent for 1991.
 Capacity (ASMs) for the four months ended April 30, 1992, increased 17 percent to 283.6 million, up from 243.1 million flown in 1991. The airline carried 659,760 passengers through April 1992, up 16 percent from the 569,988 in 1991.
