ALAN M. TRAGER ANNOUNCES THE FORMATION OF AMT CAPITAL ADVISERS
NEW YORK, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Alan M. Trager announced today the formation of AMT Capital Advisers, Inc., a private investment and financial services firm. Trager has resigned his position as a managing director of Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated to form this venture.
AMT Capital Advisers will combine the roles of principal investor and adviser to assist clients through transitional periods. AMT Capital Advisers will be working with a select group of financial partners and product experts, and the firm estimates that approximately 50 percent of its assignments will be cross-border.
"Most transitional periods are from one to three years and require a high level of strategic comfort from senior management. Today, risk is on every CEO's mind. Our aim is to reduce risk in growth situations by working in partnership with management." says Alan M. Trager.
AMT Capital Advisers will bring an owners' approach to each situation. In addition to investing its capital along side that of its clients, the firm's advisory fees will be performance based.
In his 13 years at Morgan Stanley, Trager was involved with creating and managing a number of financial services businesses for the firm. His role was to take a new business from the concept phase through its development to an operating business. He worked in this capacity with the Pierpont Funds, ESI (an institutional discount broker) and most recently as head of Morgan Stanley Global Securities Services, which he led from its inception. The Pierpont Funds and ESI were sold in 1989 and 1988, respectively, and the global custody business today is an established business, with current assets in excess of $16 billion.
AMT Capital Advisers will commence operation in mid-November 1991 and will operate from its offices at 1270 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan.
