ALABAMA FARM BUREAU SETS JAN. 6 NEWS CONFERENCE
The re-establishment of Farm Bureau -- the nation's foremost

general agricultural organization -- in Alabama will be formally announced at a news conference in the state capital on Monday, Jan. 6.
The news conference will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, in the auditorium of the Alabama Agriculture and Industries/Richard Beard Building, 1445 Federal Drive, Montgomery, Ala.
Principals will be Del Denney, a poultry producer from Cullman, Ala., who is president of the new Alabama Farm Bureau, and Dean Kleckner, president of the 3.9 million member-family American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF).
Denney and his family own and operate Denneybrook Farm, a fully-automated facility which produces hatching eggs. Denney was in Chicago for several days earlier this month, representing Alabama as a participant in the extensive Farm Bureau resolutions process to determine policies that will guide the national organization during 1992.
Kleckner is an Iowa corn/soybean/hog farmer who has served as president of the nation's largest general farm organization for the past six years. He was in Russia last month where he visited with families on several private farms, and in Moscow met with agricultural leaders to establish liaison with an organization that represents private farmers seeking American agricultural expertise. Also expected at the event will be Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture A.W. Todd, Farm Bureau presidents from adjoining states and several legislators and other Alabama state officials.
