AL CAFARO NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, POLYGRAM HOLDING INC.
NEW YORK, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Al Cafaro has been named executive vice president, PolyGram Holding Inc. (PHI), the company which oversees all of PolyGram's interests in the U.S.
The announcement was made today by Alain Levy, CEO of PHI to whom Cafaro will report.
In addition to his present responsibilities as president and CEO of A&M Records, Cafaro's responsibilities at PHI will include the monitoring of the development of Mercury Records. Ed Eckstine, Mercury's newly appointed president, will report to him. Cafaro will remain based at A&M in L.A.
Said Levy: "Al, under Jerry Moss' guidance, has been extremely successful at bringing an exceptional team spirit to A&M, where the results speak for themselves. We want to use his experience and knowledge to assist and advise Ed in building Mercury into a well balanced and growing music company."
"In the last few years at A&M," stated Cafaro, "I have seen great frustration turn into extraordinary success and in the process, have come to understand the value of a tight knit, highly motivated team." Cafaro went on to say, "Alain has put together a great group of music people. I'm proud to be part of his team and I look forward to working more closely with Ed Eckstine at Mercury, although it is clear that my primary responsibility will be running A&M Records."
